The Chaffee County Clerk & Recorder does not conduct the precinct caucuses nor the delegate selection process. The caucuses are conducted by the political parties.
Chaffee County Republican Precinct Caucus
To be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.
Locations: Southern End of the County – Salida Middle School, 520 Milford St.

To be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 6:00 p.m.

Important Election Dates-2012
Tue February 7, 2012 – Republican Party Precinct Caucus Day
Tue March 6, 2012 – Democratic Party and American Constitution Party Caucus
Tue May 29, 2012 – Last day to change or withdraw from major political party affiliation
Tue May 29, 2012 – Last day to register to vote for the Primary Election
Mon June 4, 2012 – First day mail ballots will be sent to voters
Tue June 26, 2012 – PRIMARY ELECTION DAY. The Primary Election will be an all MAIL BALLOT election.
All mail ballots must be in the hands of the county clerk by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day. Ballots cast my military and overseas must be sent no later than 7:00 p.m. on election day and received by the close of business on the 8th day after the election.
Tue October 9, 2012 – Last day to register to vote for the General Election
Tue November 6, 2012 – GENERAL ELECTION DAY. The General Election will be a Vote Center Election. Voters on the Permanent Mail-In Ballot list will receive their ballots by mail.
